As organizations continue to embrace digital transformation, the need for reliable, secure, and flexible IT infrastructure is growing. NIDC Cloud Computing enables customers to access IT resources such as computing, storage, and digital infrastructure through the cloud, without having to purchase and manage all the infrastructure themselves. One of the key advantages of NIDC Cloud Computing is that the service is hosted and managed within Tanzania. This provides greater data security and control, improves service accessibility, and supports the storage of institutional data within the country's borders. 50% Discount Promotion To encourage the use of locally hosted cloud services, NIDC has introduced a 50% discount promotion on Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and selected Add-on services. The promotion started on 1 September 2026 and will run for three months. During the first two months, customers will receive a 50% discount on their selected service. For example, the entry-level package will cost TZS 24,999 per month, instead of TZS 49,999. From the third month, customers will continue using the service at the standard NIDC rates. Who Can Benefit? The promotion is open to a wide range of customers, including small, medium and large businesses, startups, technology innovators, companies, institutions, and organizations looking to adopt or expand their use of cloud computing. With NIDC Cloud Computing, customers can access IT resources quickly, securely, and affordably, while reducing the need for major investments in physical infrastructure. Getting Started Getting started with NIDC Cloud Computing is easy. Customers can visit the NIDC website, go to Our Products, select Cloud Computing, and choose the service they need. Kigali, Rwanda | 18–20 August 2026 — The National Internet Data Center (NIDC) participated in the Africa Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) 2026, held in Kigali, Rwanda, from 18–20 August 2026, joining leading stakeholders from across Africa’s Internet, telecommunications, data centre, cloud, and interconnection ecosystem. Representing NIDC, Ms. Leila Masanga, Commercial Manager, engaged with network operators, Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), data centre operators, content providers, technology companies, and other digital infrastructure stakeholders to explore opportunities for strengthening Tanzania’s digital infrastructure ecosystem and expanding regional connectivity. A key focus of NIDC’s participation was the opportunity to showcase DARIX – Dar es Salaam Internet Exchange, and highlight opportunities for networks and ecosystem partners to participate in Tanzania’s growing interconnection landscape. Hosted at NIDC, DARIX provides a platform for network operators and digital infrastructure providers to establish local interconnection, improve network efficiency, and expand their infrastructure presence in Dar es Salaam. By strengthening local peering and interconnection, DARIX contributes to keeping Internet traffic closer to users while supporting the growth of Tanzania’s digital economy. The forum also provided an important platform for NIDC to connect with potential partners, exchange knowledge and industry insights, and explore opportunities to deepen Tanzania’s participation in Africa’s rapidly evolving digital infrastructure ecosystem. NIDC appreciates the AfPIF community and all organisations that engaged with the NIDC/TTCL delegation throughout the forum. These engagements are an important step toward building stronger partnerships and creating new opportunities for digital infrastructure development and interconnection. As Africa’s digital ecosystem continues to grow, NIDC remains committed to supporting Tanzania’s role in the continent’s digital future — building stronger connections, enabling local digital growth, and contributing to a more interconnected Africa.
